300 BLK is one of the most versatile cartridges ever created. The can is versatile in a sporting and self-defense sense, in that there are very good and reliable bullets available across a wide disparity of bullet weight, cross-sectional density, and ballistic coefficient. This gives rise to an outstanding variety of subsonic and supersonic loads appropriate for almost any use.So why would you purchase a dedicated 300 BLK can? The 300 BLK can is specifically designed for the inherent characteristics of the cartridge. Using a generic multicaliber suppressor rated for 300 BLK can lead to inefficient sound suppression and abnormally high first-round-pop. This is typically because the baffle systems are designed for higher pressures.For exotic sporting purposes, short barreled rifles can be made extremely short using 300 BLK because the cartridge was designed originally using pistol powder. Barrels can be very short while maximizing potential velocity from this reliable cartridge. Also, in the AR15 platform, the only thing that has to be changed is the barrel. Dedicated 300 BLK Can: Redundant? Far From It.

They serve the sole purpose of mitigating or eliminating flash on a weapon to aid in night time operation of said weapon. Flash hiders come in a variety of styles. GEMTECH’s flash hider has been designed to maximize flash suppression when a silencer is not being used. The Flash hider is also engineered to not cause unnecessary wear on the internal components of the silencer.&nbsp;Muzzle Brakes have gained popularity over the past few decades and are very common on modern sporting rifles being used for the shooting sports. GEMTECH’s muzzle brakes have been designed to reduce muzzle rise during firing and also mitigate felt recoil by the shooter. We have engineered our muzzle brakes to prevent unnecessary wear on the internal components of the silencer.&nbsp;Our silencer mounting system utilizes a two or three lug mechanism. This system of mounting requires no ratcheting or levers. The two and three lug system is designed to have as little POI shift as possible and should return to zero when taken on and off.&nbsp;Whether you choose a muzzle brake or a flash hider we know that once your silencer is mounted and you shoot with it, you won’t want to take it off. In this capacity, it truly shines. Its small size and weight lends itself well to stowage in the survival equipment vest, which allows aircrew to conduct SERE operations as needed.Downed aircrew will typically have a service pistol with a threaded barrel, and upon ditching an aircraft should affix the Aurora II directly to the sidearm. This allows downed aircrew to dispatch of small patrols if absolutely necessary. Equipment seized from a small patrol is a significant force multiplier for a downed aircrew.The aurora is extremely small and lightweight, and is packed with wipes and petroleum jelly. With 124 NATO ball ammunition, it will typically be hearing safe at the shooter for more than 2 full magazines. The updated Aurora II has 8 wipes separated by 3 baffles. The baffles and the wipes are symmetric. As long as the assembly stack goes 2 wipes, baffle, 2 wipes, baffle, there’s no way to put it together incorrectly. The premier update of the Aurora II is the ability to thread on either a ½-28 barrel or an M13-X1LH barrel. This allows the silencer to be used without adapters to any factory threaded 9mm pistol. When the wipes are shot out, the user can send the silencer to the GEMTECH facility for factory rebuild.The Aurora II functions without a Nielson device (LID) because it is incredibly short and lightweight; making it ideal for aircrew survival equipment. In aviation (and military operations in general), less parts is ALWAYS better.The rich history of the Aurora II, coupled with its novel application, make the Aurora II an innovative modernization of a timeless classic of function and form.

In the 100 plus years since the publication of that patent, science demonstrated that it is impossible to, “silence,” a gun and that, “suppression,” is the most accurate descriptor for this class of items. H.P. Maxim trademarked the name Maxim Silencer. There is a debate about using, “silencer” because the first products developed were called, “silencers.” This makes the word a reference to historical meaning. Whether we say, “silencer,” or, “suppressor,” we are ultimately referring to the same items that perform the same tasks: &nbsp;recoil reduction, increase in accuracy, decrease in pressure and sound.<img src="https://images.contentstack.io/v3/assets/bltb61dcb3c40854cd9/blt23db37d438964c8d/63bef5a30dc3963ccff8abf3/image.png" height="auto"/>In the English language, car mufflers are called, “silencers.” (see our British cousins across the pond.)
